Dr. Pahira specializes in stone disease and has been in practice for more than 45 years.
After graduation with his medical degree from M.S. Hershey Medical Center of Penn State University, he completed his urology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1979 and joined the Faculty at Georgetown University Hospital. He was promoted to Professor in 1992.
In 1986 he established the first Center for Kidney Stone Disease and Lithotripsy in Washington DC.
Dr. Pahira has served as President of the Washington Urologic Society, the Mid-Atlantic Section of the American Urologic Association & the Medical Faculty of Georgetown University Hospital, and well as a reviewer for several urological & Nephrological medical journals.
In 2004 he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and in 2017 into the Georgetown University Medical Center Magis Society of Master Teachers.
