High Voltage Generator:
The high voltage generator is the heart of the
E3000 system. The generator is based on spark-gap technology.
Spark gap generators create shock waves under water using
a spark electrode placed in an ellipsoid reflector. The
energy produced from the spark of the electrode is reflected
so that it is concentrated onto the stone, located at
a second focal point, or F2. The recurring pressure on
the stone leads to its fragmentation, with little damage
to the kidneys and surrounding areas. Spark gap technology
was the first technology employed by lithotripter manufacturers
and many researchers and physicians believe that spark
gap shock wave generators are still the most effective
type of generator available.
Medispec's high voltage generator is unique in that
it provides a large focal zone and high bar pressure
for the most effective treatment of urinary calculus.
It also features a hand control and lighted shock counter.
Urology Treatment Table:
The E3000 comes with a non-dedicated, 4-axis,
multifunctional treatment table. This motorized table
has a cut-out on both sides to accommodate the shockwave
head for treatment on either side of the patient. The
table top is made of carbon fiber for obstruction-free
imaging and can be used for a variety of endourology
procedures. The treatment table has a weight capacity
of 400 lbs, one of the highest in the industry.
The 4-axis table can be upgraded to a 5-axis endourology
table so that more complex procedures can be performed
on the table. Medispec's 5-axis table is designed for
efficient, ergonomic lithotripsy and auxiliary endourology.
Positioning the patient is easy, with motor-driven trendelenburg
tilt, horizontal and vertical movement capabilities,
and remote control hand and foot switches. The 5-axis
table has a weight capacity of 450 lbs.
A variety of table accessories are available for both
the 4 and 5 axis tables.
C-Arm:
The E3000 can be used in conjunction
with most standard C-arm imaging systems. Medispec offers
the GE-OEC 8800 Flexiview C-arm in its standard lithotripsy
package. The 8800 offers true 1k x 1k image resolution
for crisp imaging and two viewing monitors for side-by-side
imaging comparisons.
Medispec can also upgrade the C-arm to the higher-end
OEC 9800 GSP Super C-arm. This C-arm offers advanced
imaging features that can be beneficial in other surgical
applications such as cardiology and orthopedics. OEC
C-arms are available in a number of configurations so
you can select the product features that best meet your
